Frequently Asked Questions..........

I am on a fixed income and cannot afford to pay the entire cost of my D.I.P. Is there any financial assistance available?
Depending on availability, the State of Ohio offers indigent monies which provide partial funding for individuals who are on SSI, SSDI, TANF, Medicaid or who meet indigent requirements according to current U.S. Poverty Guidelines. Please contact our office at (216)391-0977 for additional information.

How will my Court know that I have completed my D.I.P.?
On the final day of your D.I.P. program, you will receive a Certificate of Completion for your program. Also, with 5 business days, a formal written report will be sent to your probation officer or court informing them or your completion.

I received my OVI/DUI in another state. If I take your D.I.P., will it be accepted by them?
OVI/DUI offender program requirements vary from state to state, however, State of Ohio program requirements are generally accepted by other states as well. Our D.I.P. has been well received by numerous states outside of Ohio, however, it is highly recommended that you contact the state in which you received your OVI/DUI offense to discuss your particular situation.

How do I register for my 72-Hour Driver’s Intervention Program (D.I.P.)?
You can call our office at (216)391-0977 and register over the phone. If you receive our voice mail please leave a voicemail message and someone will return your call on the next business day.

What should I expect at the D.I.P.?
During your program you will attend informative lectures and actively participate in group discussions. Given the nature of your stay, it is our goal to make your weekend experience as beneficial and productive as possible.

What do I need to bring to my D.I.P.?
You need to bring enough casual clothing and grooming items for the duration of your program. It is also suggested that you bring snack items for your evenings, however, they are also available in the vending machines located within the hotel.

I have been informed by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) that I also need to take an 8-Hour Adult Remedial Drivers Course. Will this course be available to me during my D.I.P.?
Yes. Key Decisions/Positive Choices is certified by the Ohio Department of Public Safety to provide this course for individuals needing a 2 point credit for their driver’s license or for individuals who need to complete the course as part of the requirement for their driver’s license to be reinstated. There is a small additional fee for the required Certificate of Completion which must be received by BMV as proof of successful completion of the course.

When are my payments for the D.I.P. due?
Payments are required approximately 7 days prior to your program start date and can be paid by cash, money order or credit card. Contact the office for additional information.
